JOCA awareness day, White Lion Square, Hatfield
A decent crowd turned up in White Lion Square to meet the founders of JOCA and find out more about the work of the charity. There was a range of kids activities, including face painting, candyfloss and hot dogs, as well as a bar between 12.00pm and a prize raffle. People were then invited back to the club house (Mai Tai Bar) for the close of the 6 Nations Rugby Tornament with Ireland v England. It was a great day, except for England rugby supporters.

Pass It On
Pass It On is an initiative to raise awareness of mental health in rugby and promote general well-being. We will be launching this initiative on 3 December 2016 at Welwyn with a charity match, barbecue and evening event. A number of specially commissioned balls have been sourced and we will begin to pass these around Hertfordshire rugby clubs, the objective being that once a club has received a ball they then spend a week promoting well-being and raising awareness of mental health issues. At the end of that week the ball will be passed on to the next club. Stay tuned for more updates.
Charity rugby game
JOCA is holding a charity game on 3 December 2016 at Welwyn rugby club. We are looking for raffle or auction prizes and we also aim to sell cakes, so if you would like to donate something for the auction, or if you're a budding Bake Off star who would like to make a cake to raise funds for JOCA please email Justin Burgess at email@example.com

The JOCA team present to the RFU at Welwyn Rugby Club
Mental illness is an often unspoken about issue and is sadly the biggest killer of young men in the UK aged 22 to 42. JOCA aims to destigmatise mental health amongst young men and women. On 12 September the JOCA team was given an opportunity to present to the RFU to promote the work of our welfare committee.

A JOCA Peddle 'n' Pint event was held on Saturday 27 August to raise funds. The participants left at 12 noon from the Tonic in Welwyn Garden City dressed as jesters, jokers and clowns and cycled to a number of local pubs for some liquid refreshment. A fun day was had by all and £380 was raised which will all go towards helping those who turn to JOCA.
Whatever your problems, issues or concerns we are here to listen and help. The JOCA Welfare team can be contacted 24/7 via our email address firstname.lastname@example.org or via the form below - we'll get straight back to you. We will respect your privacy at all times.
